Zen Shiatsu - A style of Japanese massage that treats the energy meridians of the body to unblock the flow of ki and help the body meridians and organs rebalance. Usually done fully clothed on a mat on the floor. Involves acupressure, palming, and stretching. Requires loose comfortable clothes, preferably natural fibers.
Swedish Massage - Relaxing oil-based treatment involving a combination of long gliding strokes, kneading, light to medium friction, and in some cases vibration or percussion. Increases circulation of blood and lymph, relaxes, and may assist with injury recovery and release of scar tissue adhesions.
Deep Tissue Sports Massage – Massage, often focused on specific problem areas in the sub-layer of musculature and fascia, intended to increase flexibility, free adhesions, reduce chronic pain, and assist with injury prevention or rehabilitation. Usually starts and ends with Swedish relaxation techniques but involves deeper pressure, more friction, and focus on specific problem areas rather than the whole body. Can be done with or without oil. If you would like a through full body deep tissue massage focusing on more than 1 problem area, at least 90 minutes is needed and 2 hours is better.
Integrative Massage – Integration of two or more massage styles, often focusing on problem areas. You can specify what you want or leave it to us. We normally incorporate some shiatsu into nearly every massage and can easily incorporate some Thai Massage.
Aromatherapy– The use of essential oils from herbs, flowers, resins, woods, and roots to assist with treatment. Essential oils may be mixed in the massage oil in an oil-based massage or in some cases may be applied directly. Essential oils may also be used in adiffuser or poultices and may be used on linens or in hydrotherapy treatments. Various oils can be used to greatly assist with relaxation or stimulation and may also be potent mood enhancers. May not be appropriate for people with allergies or for women who are pregnant or attempting to get pregnant.
Foot Reflexology– Foot massage that focuses on pressure points and “reflex points” in the foot that correspond to the parts of the body, including specific organs and glands. Stimulating the appropriate regions is intended to eliminate energy blockages to help the body to rebalance itself and to reduce pain in the related areas.
Rossiter System® Workouts - Puts you in charge of your own program to restore healthy tissue function and mobility fast! May significantly reduce chronic pain and help avoid the need for surgery. The Rossiter system targets your body's connective tissue, a head-to-toe network of ligaments, tendons and fascia that holds everything together. These techniques use weight and active stretching to loosen and lengthen the entire network of tissue to its natural state. We provide coaching and weight -- you do the work and are in charge of your own workout. The Rossiter System helps keep your body healthy, supple and pain-free naturally. Prevent and relieve pain, regain and build range of motion, enhance performance with breakthrough stretches. Requires motivation, a willingness to work hard, and acceptance of bruising. Not suitable for anyone who has recently (within 12-24 hours) used aspirin or other prescriptions or over the counter pain or inflammation reduction drugs and use of other medications may also make the techniques unsuitable. Please let us know in advance of your appointment time if you are on any medication. Not suitable for anyone who has had recent surgery, and appropriate techniques may be limited by prior surgery, implants, or prior use of cortisone shots. Not recommended for women who are pregnant. Great for motivated individuals who want fast results and are willing to work for it. Our normal workout times are approximately 20-30 minutes, but you decide how much you want -- workouts for particular areas of the body may be as short as five to ten minutes and significant relief and increased range of motion may be achieved in minutes.
